Search for Associate Director (Per Diem) jobs in Los Angeles-CA
Responsible for providing production support to the Director during live and live-to-tape programs, primarily newscasts. Includes script and rundown preparation, video and digital assets coordination; timing and counting of production elements including live and pre-recorded video, prep and cue live shots, and coordinate studio and remote floor direction with Stage Manager. Responsible for tracking status of pre-recorded and edited video content during live newscasts and remote production. Create MOS objects and confirm matching rundown and playlist status. Provide desktop editing support when necessary and applicable. Supervise server management systems during live broadcasts.
Bachelors Degree in Communications or related field preferred. Minimum 2 years live broadcast associate directing or directing experience, preferably in live news production. Excellent organizational and communication skills required. Possesses a strong fundamental understanding of video and audio production technologies and related equipment capabilities. Experience in Ross Overdrive or equivalent control room automated production systems is a plus. Demonstrates an aptitude to learn and adapt to new technologies. Working knowledge of News operating systems including OPUS, TONS, Clip-Edit, Final Cut Pro, VZRT or equivalent news production and operating systems. Microsoft Office/Outlook knowledge also required. Proficiency in computer skills including server-based storage/play-out systems required. Works well under deadline and the pressure of a live broadcast. Communicates clearly and provides accurate directions to crew during live broadcasts. Demonstrates ability to make quick decisions. Works well as a member of a team. Must be willing to work mornings, nights, weekends and holidays. Directing experience a plus.
