JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT NEWS DIRECTOR
DEPARTMENT: NEWS
REPORTS TO: News Director
Responsible for assisting in the overall supervision of the News Department and for developing and executing news content designed to improve communications, job performance and overall impact of news broadcasts. May represent the news director on such occasions as assigned.
Must have undergraduate degree in communications, related field or equivalent related work experience. A minimum 7-10 years experience as a news manager with technical and editorial responsibilities in a large market or network. Previous news management experience as a news director, assistant news director, executive news producer managing editor or technical manager preferred. Experience involving the distribution of news content across multiple platforms. Candidate must posses excellent leadership skills while managing a large staff under extreme pressure. Strong organizational and communication skills, both oral and written required.
