Fox 5 San Diego, a Tribune Broadcasting station, is seeking a creative and innovative News Promotion Manager: Someone who understands local TV news and leans forward into innovation to capture an audience with compelling news promotion marketing.
The News Promotion Manager will write, produce, shoot and edit effective brand image promotional spots, have a strong understanding of daily topical news with a passion for television news on air and on social, and that includes supervision of the daily retail marketing (tease program).
Collaborating with the Creative Services Director to maintain a productive relationship with News leadership, you will work with our newsroom with market-leading talent, to drive our daily news on-air promotion messaging using state of the art tools including Sony HD cameras, Premiere and After Effects. Prior broadcast or cable TV news promotion and quality references required. Interest in local TV news and newsroom experience a must. Must provide a link to work samples demonstrating advanced knowledge of video production and post-production workflows to be considered.

Primary Duties:
Manage news promotional efforts on-air and on social.
Oversee topical producers and occasionally cover topicals as needed.
Write, produce and edit promotional, special report and POP spots.
Review all daily topical promotions and attend news meetings as needed.
Review logs daily and leverage as needed.
Understand and support news brand by working with News leadership.
Perform other duties as needed and as directed by Creative Services Director.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong writing, editing, shooting, graphic and all aspects of TV news marketing including Commercial production are a plus.
Education & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Broadcasting or Journalism preferred or equivalent work experience.
