KIAH, a Tribune Broadcasting station, has an opening for a National Sales Manager to work in our Houston location.
This position will be responsible for: all sales activity for assigned representative firm national offices; monitoring and evaluating sales performance; assist in training and development of sales representatives; participating in setting and accountable for meeting financial goals and growing market share; establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with major agencies/clients.
Primary Responsibilities
• Accountable for meeting targeted financial budget and market share goals. Monitors national sales activity on weekly basis from reports provided by internal and external monitoring sources
• Monitors performance of national representative firms through on-going evaluation of various areas including billing growth, share increase, success at selling sports, specials, pre- and post-sell efforts, attention to buyer's and station's needs and provides direction and guidance in developing sales goals and strategies to effectively meet these goals
• Develops and maintains direct relationships with agencies and clients to promote station's image
• Accountable for all National Political advertising and expected to maximize all share opportunities
• Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience required
• 5 years' experience in advertising/media sales
• Knowledge of Nielson, ComScore, Wide Orbit and Kantar preferred
• Strong communication skills
• Knowledge of strategies of competing stations and rep firms in the national markets
• Excellent negotiation and customer service skills
• Demonstrated ability to influence and direct sales activity that results in top performance
• Ability to analyze markets, packages, prices and sell available airtime
• Must be proficient with MS Office
