KIAH/CW39, is looking for an experienced fill in morning on camera host to present local cut-ins on-camera in our morning syndicated news program Eye Opener. Qualified applicants must be able to deliver daily weather, traffic and local news in our morning newscast in the our syndicated morning shop Eye Opener, Monday-Friday 5am-8am and support related social/digital responsibilities. In this role, you will also need to write copy, create/post digital content and engage social media followers on Facebook live, twitter, instagram and give the morning news team details on all covered overnight, breaking and trending local news.
Role Responsibilities:
As the morning on air host in Eye Opener, you will be responsible for the content of the 4 local cutins each hour which may also include weekly live shots that include a local weather cast, traffic update and local new headlines including breaking and overnight events for presentation on-air and on all our digital/social platforms. You will also issue warnings, alerts, supervise push notifications, use WSI weather max system to produce graphics for weather & traffic and write news copy to supplied video.
You must be able to utilize a variety of sources including social media for crafting and writing voice over copy, stories and digital content. Duties include delivering daily/hourly weather and traffic conditions, producing and presenting clear and concise information and news coverage to connect with viewers along with producing content and graphics for on-air, web and social media use.
You will be working with the morning team of producers, editors and assignment desk staff to determine relevant story content in breaking and everyday situations, possibly doing live shots from community events.
As the studio on air traffic, weather and news presenter, you will need the skills to quickly and concisely communicate to viewers any routine altering events impacting their commute. You will be expected to produce content on a variety of platforms including, internet, social networking sites, and mobile phones, in addition to television. You must have excellent time management skills.
This is a fill-in/Part Time position to work 4a-9am shifts mostly during holidays and when our regular host is sick or on vacation. To make your mark in Broadcasting and Digital Media. We are advancing the world of Broadcasting and we want YOU to join our winning team!
