Job Summary
Working under the direction of the Director, Content and Development, the Production Assistant will be responsible for the administration, organization and in some cases, the production work involved in KCETLink's original productions, including, but not limited to Departures, SoCal Connected, Artbound, Artbound Presents Studio A and others. His/her duties will vary depending on the series. The Production Assistant will
organize logistics for shoot days including talent, travel, schedules, equipment, and other related technical issues, and will also assist during productions on location, as needed. This is a Temporary, nonexempt position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
• Work with producers, editors, and related KCETLink staff to develop and execute productions
• Attend and actively participate in production meetings
• Translate production meetings into meaningful actionable tasks for production briefs
• Participate and engage in a typical production model, from development through post-production and distribution
• Create, edit, and distribute shooting schedules (call sheets) and scripts
• Assist in post-production by generating show graphics, media management, encoding media, and video editing
• Assist in media distribution by transcoding and publishing media to various platforms including web services, DVD, and press kits
• Work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail including quality control of productions
• Assist crew members on productions
• Perform other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Experience working on productions for television and/or film
• Familiarity with video and audio equipment
• Proficient with video editing software such as Avid, Final Cut Pro, Premiere, After Effects
• Proficient with Photoshop and HTML
• Proficient with web content management platforms and media production for online platforms
• Experience in an office setting
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task with accuracy and to meet deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Must be a self-starter, proactive, highly motivated and goal-oriented
PREFERRED
• Proficiency in a second language
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
