POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the SVP, Content Development & Production, the Multimedia Producer will develop and produce smart, original content for KCETLink's multiple distribution channels - both for broadcast and digital, and will be charged with creating and commissioning videos, editorial graphics, interactives and other content for all of KCETLink's distribution platforms. The successful candidate will be a digitally-literate, socially-savvy journalist that has the proven ability to source ideas and execute high-quality video stories independently.
JOB DUTIES:
• Under the direction of the SVP, Content Development & Production and collaborating with other KCETLink departments
- develops and produces unique original content across all platforms
- creates and commissions videos, editorial graphics, interactives and other content across all platforms
• Liaises on a daily basis with KCETLink's editors, writers, producers, and the social media and program teams
• Contributes ideas to KCETLink's Production meetings
• Works closely with the Communications Department to market and publicize new content
• Collaborates, as needed, with the Development Department to position KCETLink for new funding sources
• Completes other duties as directed or assigned
DEMONSTRATED ABILITY TO:
• Commission and edit video material for the web and for broadcast
• Commission products that are in alignment with KCETLink's vision, within budget and on aggressive deadlines
• Shoot and edit video consistent with industry-standard editing protocols
• Work with web and production publishing tools
• Manage people and products
• Quickly learn KCETLink software and production systems
• Be intellectually curious and a creative and nimble thinker
• Be passionate about producing stories in innovative ways
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum 5 years' experience successfully working in the industry
• Masters or Bachelors in Film, Journalism or Art
