JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director, Corporate Sponsorship, the Manager, Corporate Sponsorship bears responsibility for revenue generation on a multi-platform national and local level. The Manager creates net station sales and marketing strategies from television underwriting and program sponsorship through identifying and closing commitments from corporations, foundations and individuals. This position is part of the Development Department, which functions in a matrix organizational structure; hence the position reports to multiple leaders and it is critical that the successful candidate collaborate and coordinate all efforts with KCETLink employees within and outside the department that are in goal alignment.

FULL-TIME - EXEMPT
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
• Creates and implements annual sponsorship strategies, including: planning, initiating, evaluating and enhancing corporate partner programs, as follows:
• • Develops strategies for marketing underwriting opportunities to for-profit and not-for-profit organizations
• Renews current underwriters while pursuing new sponsorship opportunities
• Renews current underwriters for BBCWN; pursues and increases the corporate sponsorship revenue base.
• Develops ongoing product packaging opportunities for broadcast/digital/live events.
• Creates, implements and monitors the effectiveness of underwriting standards, procedures and processes.
• Works with applicable KCETLink executives to develop underwriting contracts.
• Reviews and applies audience research, including qualitative and quantitative data, to underwriting strategies.
• Works with various internal departments to coordinate pitches and to prevent unintentional overlap of corporate solicitations.
• Serves as the back-up to the Director, Corporate Sponsorship while she or he is on business travel and vacations.
• Handles additional projects as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS DEMONSTRATED:
• Proven track record of successfully meeting income targets through both prospecting and client upgrades.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and produce high quality sales presentations.
• Understanding of broadcast inventory management.
• Excellent organizational, communication, management and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of broadcasting industry research tools and metrics; both quantitative, and qualitative.
• Working knowledge of Windows-based software and office equipment.
• Knowledge of the marketplace - local/regional/national advertisers.
• Professional, confidential demeanor and ability to exercise judgment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a wide-variety of internal clients and staff, and a high degree of initiative and attention to detail.
• Ability and eagerness to sell in a challenging start up environment focused on building a significant public service media company for KCETLink.
• Ability to thrive in the fast-paced, ever-changing and at times, stressful, environment.
• A familiarity with and specific interest in public television, its programs and audiences.
• Ability to be persistent, persuasive and problem-solve.
• Required to be detail-oriented and accurate.
• Proven track record of digital media sales and sales management.
• Strong people skills.
• Ability to consistently work well with others.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required
• Minimum 5 years' experience in media sales and management including digital media
• Minimum two years of supervisory/management experience
• Management experience must demonstrate an ability to create and encourage high standards, demonstrating an ability to teach, inspire and lead.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (PREFERRED):
• Experience in the television industry
• Experience in the public television industry
• National and Local media sales experience

The position is located in Burbank, with periodic travel to other locations. The successful candidate must have a valid drivers' license, car and sufficient car insurance to protect KCETLink.
