POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Director of Digital, and working closely with the Digital Project Manager, the Designer will be responsible for delivering original designs and production art for web, print, and TV projects. Duties will include wireframing and designing comps for KCET and Link TV websites and related components and contributing design elements for on-air, print, or other destinations as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
• Updates existing websites with new design solutions and UI elements.
• Collaborates with designers, developers, and producers to generate creative ideas and concepts.
• Creates and works from UX deliverables including sitemaps, wireframes, and creative briefs.
• Works with content producers to create identity systems for original programs.
• Works with project managers and stakeholders to produce annotated comps that translate all functionality to developers.
• Attends and actively participates in design meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS (OVERALL)
• Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Strong attention to detail.
• A working knowledge of layout, design, typography, web standards, responsive design, and user experience.
• Proficiency creating logos and supporting graphics (identity systems).
• Familiarity with TV program and web standards and dimensions.
• Experience with HTML and CSS.
• Familiarity with web content management platforms and media production for online platforms.
• Ability to manage deadline-driven multitasking.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Comfortable working in an office setting.
JOB REQUIREMENTS (SPECIFIC)
• A degree in graphic design or similar experience.
