The Content Programming Lead is responsible for high-level strategic programming, content curation, QA, analytics, and testing for OTT, syndication, and linear video platforms. The Content Programming Lead is an expert in establishing and refining a programming slate based on best practices and constantly exploring ways to optimize the content for the unique audience on each platform through testing and data insights. Success is measured by audience growth across multiple publishing platforms and operational excellence in launching our O&O brands (FailArmy, People Are Awesome, The Pet Collective, etc.) onto new platforms.

Reports to: Sr Director, Programming Brands
Contract Term: 4-Month Contract (Sept to Dec) with potential Full-Time conversion in 2018
Relationships: The Content Programming Lead collaborates with Audience Development, Production, Publishing, Creative Development, Editors, Analytics, Product/Tech, Licensing, Content Management, and Rights Management.
RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Lead programming strategy for OTT and syndication platforms (ex. Watchable, go90, Xumo, Pluto TV, etc) working across O&O brands content slates
- Create and optimize programming blocks for specific syndication platforms based on analytics, and establish effective feedback loops with O&O brand teams
- Collaborate with O&O brand teams, Development, and Production to optimize multi-platform content slate based on data, audience preferences, and best practices
- Identify growth opportunities through testing programming, publishing techniques, and O&O promotion
- Execute onboarding process with Content Operations for new platform launches
- Ensure video titles, descriptions, artwork, and metadata follow platform best practice
- Work with Producers, Editors, and Designers to execute platform hero and promotional assets (channel banners, thumbnail templates, avatars, end slates, animations, etc.)
- Monitor trends, algorithm shifts, and new tools on platforms and in the larger digital media space, sharing with and teaching the wider group
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6+ years experience in programming, publishing, and/or audience development for digital publisher brand, platform, social media, MCN, media agency
- Strong expertise in current and emerging OTT, syndication, and linear video platforms (ex. Roku, QYou, Twitch, Amazon, etc.)
- Deep sophisticated knowledge of digital video programming, performance analytics, and audience insights
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of content curation and optimization
- Excellent communication skills and ability to give clear direction through constructive feedback and insights
- Experience working in client-facing role
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced start-up environment and execute flawlessly
- Must be a tech savvy, team-oriented, and resourceful professional
- Must have proven good taste in short-form and long-form video content
- Enthusiasm for viral UGC content is a plus
- Must be based in Los Angeles
