Do you have a passion for education and a knack for bringing people together? JibJab is looking for an outgoing and self-motivated Teacher Community Manager for StoryBots, one of the fastest-growing (and most fun!) educational kids' brands in the world. Since launching in 2012, StoryBots has become a digital sensation, with more than a HALF BILLION views of our learning books and videos and two all-new star-studded Netflix original series. Now, we need your help to build our award-winning StoryBots Classroom online platform and strengthen and grow its 25,000+-strong global network of early educators. The right candidate will have a familiarity with the teacher community (and may even be a former or current teacher), a talent for content creation and an interest in forging relationships across digital and traditional communications channels. Experience in sales is a plus, even though you will not be selling anything to teachers (access to StoryBots Classroom is 100% free).
Responsibilities:
- Lead efforts to build and maintain a sense of community, engagement and growth among user network of preK-2nd grade teachers
- Plan and implement creative and innovative communications strategies for StoryBots Classroom
- Identify relevant benchmarks and metrics to measure campaign success and monitor performance, including providing regular reports to leadership
- Work closely with StoryBots Marketing Lead to ensure classroom communications strategy fits into overall brand goals and objectives
- Moderate and monitor teachers' brand sentiment and act as internal champion for educator community, providing comprehensive community feedback, issues and concerns to Marketing, Product and Engineering teams
- Generate compelling content - including regular email newsletters and social media posts - to excite, engage and grow teacher community
- Build and optimize educator email lifecycle campaign to improve engagement, encourage parent interaction and drive teacher-to-teacher referrals
- Define and maintain editorial voice for StoryBots Classroom communications and develop friendly and familiar rapport with teacher users and education influencers/press
- Conduct regular in-person classroom visits and phone interviews with teachers; design and execute quarterly surveys to gauge sentiment, user patterns and demographics/psychographics
- Manage day-to-day content calendar production
- Identify and engage with high-potential ''super-users'' and paid or unpaid community influencers to act as StoryBots brand advocates
- Create calendar of relevant conferences, awards and events for consideration
- Plan and host training webinars, conference exhibitions or other relevant events
- Direct Customer Service representatives on ''best practices'' in teacher support communications
- Identify and implement new and innovative ways to grow teacher community and connect teachers with parents, whether via in-product features, content production or through new or different distribution and communications channels
- Follow and report on relevant community and trade trends and news
- Assist StoryBots Marketing Lead on additional tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in communications, media or marketing field
- Experience and/or strong interest in early education and teaching (current/former teachers encouraged to apply!) Sales experience is a plus!
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, advertising, marketing, education, English or related area from a four-year college or university
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask under pressure and according to deadlines
- Familiarity with major social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs
- Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
- Strong, outgoing personality and willingness to be a ''face'' of the brand
- Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one, small group and large group situations
- Willingness to learn about product and marketing technologies
- Previous community management experience a plus
- Absolutely no ego - we follow the ''no jerks'' rule at JibJab!
