Senior Supervising Television Producer
IDEAL CANDIDATE: Will have a minimum of 10 successful years of experience in television content creation, production and programming creating stories that come to life on screen, as well as, seeing the stories through to completion. This role is instrumental in shaping the creative output of our ministries fast-growing media division. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Supervising T.V. Producer will collaboratively work with the Executive Producer, managing the activities of the Media Department, providing creative direction, direct response strategy implementation, content management, program formatting, copy creation, guest management, features and teaching segment productions and overall program performance. This position also Includes oversight of the daily syndicated television program and special OTO (one time only) programs as assigned.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
v Research, write (scripts for both host and guests) and produce video segments and direct response segments/commercials or manage assigned or freelance producers to create segments for approved department productions
v Lead strategic development of programming themes, guests and content for Jewish Voice television program
v Manage program guest research and selection along with their direct or indirect outside product offers that appropriately compliment the Jewish Voice mission and direct response plan
v Develop and oversee schedule for program and segment shoots for Jewish Voice
v Oversee production activity (whether in studio or in the field) and selection and scheduling of in-house and freelance personnel through Media Coordinator
v Serve as Show Producer by critically reviewing all program shoots, creating detailed edit lists and direct supervision of post-production of programs
v Serve as Director and Technical Director for studio shoots (unless graphic complexity requires a freelance T.D.)
v Supervise the review and ''proofreading'' of Jewish Voice programs to ensure quality, content accuracy and compliance with national and international broadcast technical and content standards
v Manage the vendor production relationships handling questions, approvals and workflow.
v Coordinate guest commitments into taping schedule
v Oversee all TV Taping days for effective implementation and resources; regularly review for improvements
v Oversee guest booking, appearance and hospitality of guests as handled by the Media Coordinator
v Make ongoing recommendations for program testing and improvements
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
v Extensive professional experience in television content creation, producing, production and programming (Min. 10 years)
v Minimum 5 years broadcast management experience at a television network or station
v Experience using iNews, Avid Interplay and (or) ENPS newsroom management software.
v Ability to develop, create, manage and maintain programming, appeals, production and post-production calendars, interfacing with other departments to coordinate direct response campaigns for maximum effectiveness and revenue
v Current knowledge of Media processes and standards is a must.
v Experience in direct response marketing for non-profits and ministries
v Solid research and writing skills for television content, direct response appeals, long and short form programming, host scripting and direct response products
v Strong organization skills and the ability to multi-task in a confidential environment
v Must be confident of skills and have the ability to make sound, independent decisions when appropriate
