Jack Nadel International, a privately owned, nationally renowned creative marketing, promotional products & merchandise solutions company is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the Corporate Controller with financial and accounting operations.
The Staff Accountant will work on a wide variety of projects in a fun and fast paced environment that will require a high level of energy, professionalism and a 'can do' attitude to be successful in this role. We are looking for someone who is interested in building a future with a successful, reputable company celebrating 63 years in business in 2016!
Core Responsibilities:
•Serve as key person in closing of ERP modules for period end.
•Assist in facilitating the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, reviewing and completing all assigned month-end functions.
•Build accrual spreadsheet and ensure all relevant expenses are booked on timely basis.
•Oversee migration of fixed assets from excel schedules to a selected fixed asset software; this person will then maintain fixed asset tracking and reporting as necessary including all relevant journal entries.
•Responsible for selected balance sheet account reconciliations that will be performed monthly with all relevant back up.
•Support sales tax reporting as necessary serving as backup to controller. Work with IT and relevant managers to continuously improve the process
•Assist in ongoing CPA and other audits.
•Preparation of payroll journal entries.
•Provide financial analysis of monthly SG&A costs by profit center location.
•Ongoing projects to automate key processes in accounting.
•Back up support for credit card reporting.
•Organize cross-organization budgeting.
•Prepare sub-reporting of client or function-based financial statements.
•Coordinate Ad-hoc and pro-forma financial modeling.
Education:
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Qualifications
•Minimum 3 years of related work experience
•High level of proficiency with Microsoft office and Excel in particular.
•Ability to analyze, identify and resolve problems and discrepancies in financial systems
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Ability to pass a background check including credit history is a must!
