Insignia Films (dir. Stephen Ives) is seeking an intern with serious interest in documentary film, history, and/or journalism.
This is a great opportunity for students looking to get practical experience in PBS-style documentary film. Interns will be involved with project research, production planning, assisting on set on production days, and assisting with post production & archival research, among other areas. We are also open to shaping the internship around your interests.
Previous Insignia Films productions include the landmark PBS series The West and Reporting America at War, as well a four part series for TPT, Constitution USA with Peter Sagal and many more films for the WGBH series American Experience, including Roads to Memphis, Las Vegas, Seabiscuit, Custer's Last Stand, Grand Coulee Dam, 1964, The Big Burn, and a three part series on WWI that will air on PBS in April 2017.
We are currently in production on a one-hour film about Sealab, a series of experiments to create underwater habitats in the 1960's for American Experience on PBS. We are also in development on a number of other projects.
Interns are asked to commit to at least two full days per week. Insignia offers a daily stipend and course credit where applicable. Applicants must be current undergraduate and/or graduate students. We are looking for an intern who can start immediately, but will also take applications for summer interns.
Please submit your resume and a cover letter detailing your interest.
