Innovation Arts & Entertainment (IAE) is a boutique live entertainment company based in Chicago, IL. Established in 1998 by industry veteran Adam Troy Epstein, IAE is a diversified company specializing in the presentation of concerts, theatrical events, and speakers.
IAE's expertise lies in producing and presenting first-class Broadway and Off-Broadway shows in secondary markets across the U.S. and select markets in Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico traditionally underserved with this type of entertainment. IAE has established Broadway series in 40 cities from St. Petersburg, FL to Santa Barbara, CA, which currently provide entertainment to over 30,000 subscribers nationally.
IAE has presented national tours of Mamma Mia, Les Miserables, Cats, West Side Story, Rent, Blue Man Group, Stomp, Lord of the Dance, and Cats, among many others. IAE's speaker and celebrity division has successfully presented tours and speaking engagements of Hillary Rodham Clinton, David Sedaris, Anthony Bourdain, Garrison Keillor, Ira Glass, Terry Gross, Kevin Smith, and others.
Event Marketing Specialist
The Event Marketing Specialist will promote ticket sales for live events in multiple markets simultaneously across North America featuring touring artists such as David Sedaris, Anthony Bourdain, Neil deGrasse Tyson, a wide range of touring Broadway productions, and other theatrical and entertainment events.
Position Responsibilities:
• Act as lead IAE representative and liaison with all local venue, media, promotion, press and miscellaneous partners in four or more markets concurrently
• Identify the target audience for each event and develop and implement integrated marketing plans for season subscription and single ticket campaigns including advertising, promotion, grassroots and public relations to reach that audience
• Participate in negotiation and manage placement of annual paid and trade media agreements including TV, radio, online, outdoor and print
• Develop effective media sponsorship and promotional partnership proposals
• Manage multiple advertising budgets and prepare advertising settlements
• Coordinate the design, production, and trafficking of advertising and marketing materials and creative approval process between the local venue and event representatives
• Manage content and interactions across multiple social media platforms
• Implement PR campaigns, including pitching and scheduling TV, radio and print interviews and appearances
• Coordinate press, promotional and other special events with event representatives and venue personnel
• Prepare and distribute event press releases as needed
• Supervise on-the-ground staff such as street teams, local publicists, or outside agencies when applicable
• Review box office reports with management and make price increase or discount recommendations as needed
• Evaluate return on investment of marketing initiatives against sales goals with management
• Provide regular status reports and analysis on marketing campaigns and post-event reports
Desired Skills and Experience:
• Minimum of three years' experience in marketing of live ticketed events, including media buying, direct mail, sponsorship, collateral production, and digital marketing
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, 100% accountable and able to work at a fast pace
• Able to prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines and manage resources effectively
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and understanding of basic design software
• Flexible to work extended hours and with occasional travel
