60 Second Docs is one of the fastest-growing content producers for newsworthy and shareable videos in the world. Averaging over 2.6 million views per video, we transforming how the world discovers and promotes unique stories told in the documentary format.
Based in Culver City, 60 Second Docs is seeking to add a talented intern to a very fast-paced work environment. You should craves learning new skills, and not be afraid to go the extra mile to tackle projects, subjects, and stories. As an intern, you will get to work closely with the producers, while working on real projects that reach and touch the masses.
Our ideal candidate is someone who walks into a room of people and can't leave without making a few friends. Someone who is obsessed with news and people in all their forms; and someone who is creative, inventive and thoughtful.
Duties:
1. Develop ideas to cover.
2. Research stories from newspapers, websites, and blogs.
3. Create compelling pitches strong enough to be greenlit by the creative team.
4. Perform outreach to story subjects.
5. Fulfill other tasks to help the creative team (we send ourselves for coffee).
Qualifications:
1. Passionate about people, psychology, and behavioral deviation.
2. A fast learner.
3. Proactive and self-motivated.
4. Superior and succinct communication skills. Fast talkers preferred.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Suite Office.
6. Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.
7. Creative and Flexible.
8. Familiarity with social networking sites.
9. Curious and drawn to investigative journalism.
10. Interested in documentary storytelling!
Details:
Hours are typically 9am-6pm. Must be available to work 2-5 days a week. Must be able to receive school credit for Internship.
