INDIAN FILM FESTIVAL OF LOS ANGELES
Position: SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER
Start Date: May 1, 2016
Job Description: The Social Media Manager works closely with the Festival Producer in developing and executing a year-round social media strategy for the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA). This person will analyze trends and enhance IFFLA's status as the lead in presenting a space via social media for Indian independent cinema.
Duties:
• Develop and execute the festival's social media strategy
• Maintain the festival's social media platforms with consistent and strategic updates
• Ensure the consistency of the festival's brand and identity on all social media platforms
• Oversee the festival's budget for Facebook and other social media ads and submit updates on ads progression and success
• Work closely with the Marketing Manager, Outreach Coordinator and programming department in coordinating content for social media platforms
• Work closely with the publicity department in coordinating the timeline of social media postings
• Coordinate with the sponsorship department sponsor deliverables related to social media
• Track and report outcomes of social media efforts
• Monitor trends in social media tools, trends and applications and make necessary adjustments to the festival's social media strategy in an effort to maximize results
• Supervise the social media intern(s) during festival week
• Submit a wrap report with final numbers of social media reach post-festival.
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• 2-4 years experience in social media
• Familiarity with social media platforms for film festivals
• International cinema knowledge and Indian cinema knowledge is a plus
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Experience with basic design and photography
• Ability to analyze trends and changing markets
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• Strong attention to detail
