Summary
The Associate Producer is under the general supervision of the Producers. The Associate Producer is responsible for working with all the producers, taking direction and assisting when asked, but more importantly, being proactive and anticipating Producer needs. Must use all resources effectively and handle all materials in a professional and confidential manner.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
• Communicates effectively with producers when necessary, such as vacation requests, client calls or emails
• Conducts business proactively (suggests tasks, jobs, or ideas to improve department)
• Receives and returns phone calls and emails promptly
• Assists Producers with daily tasks, regularly checks in throughout the day
• Targets and identifies upcoming projects
• Provides status on projects, deadlines, and break-downs of short and long term tasks
• Organizes script presentations
• Conducts music searches
• Submits all final scripts and music memos to clients
• Works collaboratively with Assistant Editors
• Types up Continuities
• Coordinates client relations such as gifts
• Targets and identifies upcoming projects
• Updates Ignition Creative blogs
• Assists Producers with daily tasks, regularly checks in throughout the day
• Provides status on projects, deadlines, and break-downs of short and long term tasks
• Ensures proper communication at shift change with any evening personnel
• Fills out all necessary paperwork through FileMaker
• Orders new supplies as necessary
Qualifications & Skills
• Must have a solid understanding of the post-production process
• Able to organize and work effectively in order to meet deadlines
• Conducts all matters in a professional, confidential, and courteous manner
• Collaborates and coordinates with other departments
• Work experience in creative and/or supervisory capacity specifically in copywriting or editing is a plus
