JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Manage and maintain complex television integrated systems with minimal or no supervision.
•Implementation of new engineering projects as directed by Corporate Engineering and project management.
•On call 24/7 to provide timely response to station off-air situation, equipment issues, transmitter issues, etc.
•Contribute to the development, preparation and implementation of operating and capital expense budget and special projects.
•Obtain and verify quotes for projects and/or recurring service by outside contractors.
•Manage and control station operating expenditures.
•Preparation and timely delivery of operational reports as well as status reports for on-going station projects and compliance documents.
•Must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve electronic and/or electrical issues at both the studio and transmitter facilities.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED
•Minimum Associates Degree, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training or work experience.
•Candidates must have minimum of 3 years' experience maintaining modern broadcast equipment or equivalent.
•FCC license or SBE certification a plus.
•Must be able to travel.
•Must be physically able to bend, lift and carry up to a maximum of 70 pounds, as well as climb on step-stools, ladders and other necessary equipment.
•Solid working knowledge of PC's, networking, routers, operating systems and Microsoft applications software such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
•Practical working knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and basic construction techniques.
•RF engineering knowledge to maintain and repair all technical equipment in studio and transmitter facilities, satellite downlink and microwave transmission systems.
•Knowledge of FCC television broadcasting rules and regulations. Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, structural and civil engineering methods.
•Effectively present information and respond to corporate management, clients, viewers and general public.
