JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Cache programs with optimal video and audio levels for network programs, paid programs and all spots and promotions
•Move completed files from Avid storage to Omneon storage and create database in Harris automation system
•Manage server space
•Follow up with media discrepancies written up by QC Staff before air date
•Use internal FTP site to insert promotions directly into broadcast server
•Archive media assets into storage archive
•Ingest Tapes/Files into Edit System
•Convert digitally delivered files from original format to Omneon broadcast format for play back
•Insert AFD flags to media to format for Standard Definition play out
•Prep digital files for audio/video quality
•Prep digital files for time and enter material ID information
•Manage Video on Demand deliveries
•Back Up Commercial Content Coordinator
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED
•College diploma or university degree in BA in Mass Communication/TV Broadcasting preferred
•Minimum 3 years experience in a broadcast network environment.
•Minimum 1 year experience in Master Control Setting
•Proficiency of Microsoft Office 2010 and Windows 7 necessary
•Firm grasp of on-air broadcast workflows and systems including master control and media operations.
•Understanding of traffic logs and procedures.
•Ability to independently make log changes based on network requirements and needs.
•Flexibility to work when required (weekends, holidays + after hours when needed )
•Strong proficiency with Broadcast delivery systems such as Imagine Automation System, OSI Traffic System, Omneon Broadcast Server, Masstech Content Management System
•Exposure to various broadcast software and systems such as Telestream Flip Factory and Vantage, Terenex Converters, Cerify QC Inspection Software, Utah Router, Avid Airspeed/Interplay, Broadview, Extreme Reach Spot Delivery Systems, Signiant and Aspera Accelerated File Delivery
•Strong knowledge of the following digital formats such as MXF XD Cam 50, MXF IMX 30, H.264, mpeg2, Quicktime MOV
•Knowledge of Broadcast conversion formats (1080i, 720p, 480i) and aspect ratios
•Knowledge of the following tape formats: Beta SP, Digi Beta, HDCam, HDSR, and DVD
•Proficiency in reading and understanding Tektronix scopes in relation to acceptable Broadcast Video/Gamut and Audio loudness levels
•Functions and operational knowledge of the following Tape Decks: Sony Digi Beta DVW-A500, Sony HD Cam HDW-D1800, Sony HDCam SR SRW-5800
•Basic math skills and understanding of military time
