STRATEGY
ION Media Networks, having established a track record of operational and financial growth in building its television networks, is launching its next phase by expanding the ION Television network through affiliations with broadcast stations nationwide.
The highly-rated and fully-programmed 24/7 ''ION Television'' entertainment network will be available for affiliations with TV broadcast stations around the country. ION's digital networks and turnkey E/I solutions are also available to interested broadcasters.
ION is recruiting management and marketing talent to spearhead this strategic expansion plan beginning in 2016.
The ION Broadcast Relations team, dual-reporting to Distribution and Business Development, will build strategic relationships with broadcast partners in over 150 markets where ION does not own a TV station.
RESPONSIBILITY
•Introduce ION's television network to broadcast station group owners
•Evaluate data to assess distribution options on market-by-market basis
•Develop broadcast relationships, including primary or secondary affiliations
•Work with Cable, Legal and Analytics departments in negotiating agreements
•Maintain relationship management and communication with all broadcast affiliates
•Interact cross-functionally with management on plans impacting distribution strategy
•Represent ION at broadcast industry venues, events and gatherings
PROFILE
•10+ years in the broadcast and/or cable industry working for a network or MVPD
•Experience in executing strategies and negotiating business alliances
•Ability to multi-task and work both independently and as part of a team
•Excellent written and verbal communications skills
•Strong analytical skills and transactional acumen
