IDG-home of PCWorld, Macworld, TechHive, Computerworld, IDG.tv, and more-is looking for a creative Director/Editor/Motion GFX Designer to join our team in New York.
IDG.tv is seeking passionate, highly skilled collaborators to help revolutionize web-native technology video. As a Director/Editor/Motion GFX designer, you will be responsible for shaping the creative vision of our content to reach the largest, most engaged audience possible. You will pitch ideas, direct pilots, execute on series and one-off videos for both our highly respected editorial brands, as well as our sponsorship partners. Content will include, but not be limited to: product reviews, news, event coverage, on-location features, in-studio and field documentary series, animated explainers, sourced video compilations, listicles and other ''shareable'' content.
Job Requirements :
- Skilled DP with a 5D, C100/300, Red Epic, Sony F55, and other prosumer video cameras
- Lighting fast on Adobe Premiere, all workflows being second nature
- Skilled in Motion GFX Design and Animation (After Effects, Cinema 4D, etc.)
- Ability to run your own audio
- Sound design & mixing capability
- Good eye for color correction and responsible with use of plug-ins (Red Giant, etc.)
- A great gaffer, versed in basic video lighting equipment and techniques
- Ability to employ a glidecam when necessary (in addition to monopod, tripod, slider, handheld)
- Interest and knowledge of technology and the media landscape that covers it (i.e. The Verge, re/code, Engadget, Motherboard, Yahoo! Tech, etc.)
- Creative leadership ability, from brainstorm to storyboard to final touches
- Willingness to take constructive critiques and work toward consensus
- Working knowledge of YouTube environment
- A reel that showcases your impressive aesthetic and storytelling ability
- Strong desire to build a highly successful video operation and create industry leading content
