The Development Assistant is responsible for general office receptionist duties and assisting two busy executives at a feature film development and production company.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Phones - answering phones, connecting calls, retrieving voicemails, and relaying all messages.
Front Desk - politely greeting guests and other visitors and fulfilling any requests.
Calendars - scheduling meetings, confirming appointments and coordinating all remote and office-related events.
Script Reading - thoroughly and quickly reading screenplays and writing coverage in a timely fashion, providing story analysis, creative insight and critical feedback.
Research - conducting extensive project-related research including building lists, sourcing movie references, following industry trends, project tracking, etc.
OTHER DUTIES INCLUDE:
Office upkeep of reception area, executive offices, creative spaces, etc.
Ordering supplies and all food for the office.
Interfacing with parent company management team about scheduling of meetings, facilities availability, office supply needs, maintenance requests, etc.
Shipping, tracking & receiving of packages and distributing mail.
Managing intern tasks, assignments, & responsibilities.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
A true passion for the filmmaking process and an interest sci-fi, fantasy and world-building movies.
Extremely professional and personable with a friendly disposition.
Proficient in MS Word & Excel. Ideal candidate would know Keynote, Photoshop, FileMaker Pro, Final Draft, Google Docs, etc.
Knowledge of basic website maintenance is a plus.
Highly organized, extreme attention to detail, excellent communicator and effective follow-through skills.
An ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing, tracking and entering information.
