We are looking for senior accountant who is pro-active, self directed, and possesses an atypical high quality bar for themselves and their work product. We are a small group and you will report directly to the Assistant Controller, but have direct exposure to the Controller, CFO and other areas of the finance department. The ideal candidate will have both public and private accounting background with applicable experience in the on-line media/entertainment industry. We are looking for a professional with the resourcefulness to take on a new project, think through it, and readily grasp the quickest, easiest way to get to the goal.

Primary Responsibilities
- Supervising and developing a team of 2-3 staff accountants
- Owner of the general ledger and managing the month-end close process related to corporate accounting, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and supporting work paper reconciliations for key balance sheet and expense accounts
- Preparing monthly internal consolidated financial statements and executive financial packages
- Providing support for the annual financial statement audit, periodic internal audits and tax requests
- Preparing periodic regulatory filings (property taxes, sales taxes, etc) and other regulatory requirements
- Preparing monthly budget-to-actual for operating expenses
- Playing a key role in general process improvements and process documentation for all facets of the accounting cycle
- Providing support for other ad hoc analyses and projects (such as cash flow management, etc) as needed
Many of these projects will be undefined, so the ability to figure something out from scratch will be critical. Ultimately we are looking for someone who is knowledgeable in accounting and is flexible, eager and willing to take on a challenge!
Qualifications
- 4-5 years of accounting experience, with at 2-3 years in a Big Four public accounting firm
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP required
- Exceptional analytical skills and strong Excel skills required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
- A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to multi-task, think creatively, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented and have a high sense of urgency and exceptional organizational skills
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work extended hours during critical periods
- Oracle knowledge, industry experience and/or CPA a plus
Education
Bachelor's degree with a major or emphasis in Accounting from an accredited college or university required.
