Penske Media Corporation's HollywoodLife.com is seeking a career-minded junior-level publicist who can pitch and advance the visibility of an ultra-busy editor of a major online publication. We are looking for a smart, polished, energetic and versatile public relations professional to support HollywoodLife.com's Editor-In-Chief Bonnie Fuller, in a fast-paced, challenging environment. In this position, you will oversee the needs of an editor in our high-growth celebrity news and gossip site. The ideal candidate will be eager, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to remain professional, with discretion and complete confidentiality, in all scenarios that can occur in an entertainment business setting. This is an amazing opportunity to hit the ground running and expand your PR career.
Responsibilities:
• Pitch smart and fast Bonnie Fuller and other HL reporters for television, magazine and other media outlets.
• Create and foster new, dynamic relationships with other media outlets and contacts.
• Schedule meetings with high-profile industry professionals.
• Gracefully handle a high volume of phone calls, transactions and email inquiries.
• Arrange complicated daily calendar with meetings, logistics, details, meeting materials, etc.
• Continually update high-profile contact database.
• Interact and communicate with all levels of employees, executives, and talent.
• Act as a professional representative of the company, whether in the office, attending an event, or communicating verbally or in writing.
• Calmly diffuse potentially negative outcomes through your professionalism, thinking on your feet, and putting your innovative problem solving skills to work.
• Have a thick skin when necessary or a soft-touch as required - and have the ability to discern in what situation each applies.
This is an exciting position with growth potential and plenty of opportunities to build your contacts in the industry. In this highly visible role, you must be willing to work long hours when necessary. You'll become a key player on a talented, fun-loving team at a rapidly growing, high-energy company.
