LA-based entertainment news website and YouTube Channel, Hollywire TV, seeks two motivated and hard-working interns for its marketing department. The positions will be based in our Culver City office, and are available to students currently enrolled in their junior or senior year of college - graduate students and recent grads (within one year) will also be considered. Hollywire is a rapidly growing, fast-paced, entertainment site covering film, music, fashion, and pop culture. We are looking for detail-oriented, self-starters with a passion for and knowledge of pop-culture, social media, and marketing. The position provides interns with hands-on experience of brand marketing, business development, content marketing, and event marketing in the entertainment space. Interns will also have the opportunity to write for the Hollywire website. Candidates must be actively engaged in social networks, tech and computer savvy, and have excellent writing and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
• Support Hollywire Director of Marketing + Business Development on promotions management, partnership outreach, marketing programs, and research
• Update and maintain events calendar and contacts database
• Assist with development, management, and execution of on-camera, digital, and live promotions and sponsorships
• Research, brainstorm, and analyze promotional ideas and sponsorships for Hollywire partners and advertisers
• Track market trends - entertainment, tech, YouTube, etc.
• Research and identifying events, opinion leaders, and industry areas for partnership opportunities
• Assist with event planning and implementation
• Assist with the Hollywire e-newsletter
• Attend company staff meetings, and other required events
• Write articles and blogs for the Hollywire website
• Update Hollywire social networks
Requirements:
• Currently enrolled college student (junior, senior year, or graduate student) or recent college grad (within one year)
• Marketing, Communications, Business majors preferred
• Excellent research, reporting, writing, and proofreading skills
• Working knowledge of social media - Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, SnapChat, Pinterest, etc.
• Working knowledge of YouTube and its major players
• Ability to work a minimum 18 hours per week in the Hollywire office
• Microsoft Office proficient - Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
• Must have own computer
• Strong interest in pop culture, entertainment, marketing, and new media
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills - attention to detail is a must
• Must be a self-motivated team player with a strong work-ethic, eager to learn, excellent written and verbal communication skills, reliable transportation, a great attitude, and a sense-of-humor
