Title: Casting Producer
Status: Full Time Staff Position
Start Date: January 4, 2016
Applicant must be local to Denver, CO or willing to relocate to Denver for job. Company will not cover relocation or travel costs.
Job Summary:
This position reports to the Director of Development and supports casting needs on both pilots as well as current series. The successful candidate will have a passion for casting, excellent people skills, independent initiative, a positive attitude, and an unrelenting work ethic.
Job Qualifications:
• Experience casting for unscripted reality-based programming
• Highly organized; must compile large amounts of research and data into shared documents
• Excellent phone and people skills; must be comfortable with cold calling and conducting interviews with potential talent via Skype
• Exceptional writing skills; experience writing succinct and compelling pitches
• Strong casting instincts; must have the ability to scour the country with a keen eye for untapped talent
• Team player mentality; this position will require working with a team of casting associates and show runners
• Thrive under pressure and enjoy working in a fast paced environment
• Experience using general office software such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint
• Skilled at editing 2-4 minute casting tapes
• Must be proficient with iMovie. Experience editing on AVID a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work with executive producers on current series and pilots to cast participants and/or locations, while simultaneously working with development to cast proof of concepts, sizzles and search for new talent based on network targets
• Conduct exhaustive research on potential show ideas, characters, formats and worlds currently in development
• Interview potential talent via Skype
• Edit casting tapes using a mix of Skype interviews, raw footage and still photos
• Maintain strong talent relationships throughout the development process
• Manage and prioritize a high volume of projects and deadlines
• Other duties as assigned
