Critical Job Purpose:
To provide focused commercial leadership on all aspects of the global franchise strategy from conception through execution at the point of purchase/enjoyment/fulfillment. The successful executive will assume overall leadership responsibility for their designated global franchise and be accountable for developing the brand architecture and long-term strategic plans which will be designed to maximize franchise ROI, deliver superior brand equity and drive volume and value growth. The executive will assume P&L responsibility for the Franchise and be accountable for achieving the Franchise FISCAL performance & strategic development.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Global Brand Leadership the successful executive will:
• Leverage global & incorporate regional consumer insights to inspire the development of compelling and immersive franchise experiences.
• Own the strategic development of break-through category plans that ensure the longevity and sustainable growth of the franchise through the articulation of a clear, compelling and concise consumer proposition.
• Design the brand franchise architecture required to deliver best-in-class innovation and effectively exploit franchise performance and relevance across all formats, categories, channels and platforms.
• Partners with Global Brand, Global Development, Global Licensing & Regional Commercial Presidents to accelerate the franchise growth strategy across the Hasbro network.
• Provides franchise thought-leadership for regionally inspired merchandising and cross-category activities relative to the global franchise strategy to ensure the business is always on-message & on-brand.
• Develop strategic disruptive marketing plans and implements multi-format, platform and channel programs (digital, mobile, etc.) that disorientate competitors, delight consumers and drive sales volume and brand value growth for the franchise.
• Spearhead the overall franchise IP and ensure consistency and continuity across all mediums and platforms.
• Drive the franchise entertainment strategy to ensure the delivery of a continuous and integrated content distribution strategy globally. Connects the dots and ensures the continuation of the franchise story across multiple product occasions and platforms.
• Readily assumes executive decision making responsibility for all franchise related business matters and provides direction and a valued point of reference to colleagues in legal, finance & QA.
• Deliver innovative product and category strategies that inspire the business to rally behind the franchise and deliver the franchise fiscal, equity and revenue objectives in full.
• Provide thought-leadership and direction on franchise-specific digital content opportunities through the development of effective partnerships with colleagues at Hasbro Studios, Hasbro Games Studio & Back-flip to ensure their franchise is fully-optimized, relevant and available on multiple platforms - mobile, tablet, laptop and PC.
• Lead and chair the bi-annual strategic Franchise Review process outlining the long-term vision for the Franchise, future-state considerations whilst providing executive commentary & business narrative on the Franchise's strategic priorities, operational and financial performance by Region & Country.
• Perceived and valued as a sought-after strategic business partner by the Global and Regional Commercial Leaders whose behaviors and language reinforce their equity as the authoritative point of reference on all policy and strategy matters relating to the brand health of the Franchise.
• Leads a high performance marketing & creative team that produces future leaders for global deployment.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• The candidate will have an in-depth working knowledge of the consumer and/or entertainment landscape and a successful track record delivering disruptive franchise development programs & technologies that differentiate Hasbro in the category and positively exceed corporate expectations.
• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Advertising or related field. An MBA or advanced degree highly desirable
• The Franchise Marketing Leader will be a high-performance and strategically inspired executive with proven experience in leading consumer organizations where marketing directly influences revenue performance.
• A prolific story-teller capable of engaging internal and external stakeholders in their franchise vision and journey.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, he/she should possess:
o 10+ years of franchise strategy/marketing experience in forward thinking consumer organization preferably supporting a global business.
o Experience at an executive level leading creative and marketing efforts for multiple brands. Track record of managing multiple projects with a demonstrated ability to prioritize efforts based on ROI to the business.
o Experience managing a portfolio of brands, developing community/digital expressions inclusive of gaming and other web based projects (preferably kid and/or entertainment sites).
• Proven track record for developing cross channel marketing plans that meet/exceed business objectives.
• Excellent leadership and team building/management skills; ability to provide clear and concise direction/feedback to external and internal stakeholders as well as the ability to influence others.
• Ability to consult on the business needs and the strategies or tactics for utilizing a digital channel to deliver quantifiable business results.
• Background which includes hands-on accomplishments in delivering market share, sales growth and profitability.
• Expertise in planning, prioritizing and goal setting including the ability to manage multiple projects, determine project urgency and create detailed action plans.
• Proven experience building and mentoring a team.
• Capable of shaping a clear strategic vision and effectively communicating that vision throughout all levels of the organization.
