The Food Stylist will be working in an exciting 24/7 live TV environment. They will be responsible for working closely with the Culinary Team and our HSN Partners/Vendors to support product specific demonstrations and displays for food, cookware, and small appliances.
A Day in the Life
- Suggest and execute creatively styled demo plans and displays for on air presentations and suggestions new and different ways to showcase product
- Create menu plans and consult with celebrity chefs
- Consults with the Culinary Manager, Supervising Producer for Culinary, and Merchandising Teams (as appropriate) regarding the theme or vision and collect perspectives on tablescape items such as dinnerware, table linens, and flatware; providing feedback on the best creative presentation
- Consigns equipment for use in the prep kitchen and visual aids to enhance the show
- Maintain the kitchen inventory by restocking product and food, and also maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Work with the Culinary Manager to ensure the HSN brand is maintained
- May be asked to appear on air as a sous chef (in the background)

Must Haves
- At least 3 years of proven Creative Food Styling experience; or equivalent experience working back-of-house in high-end, formal restaurants may be substituted
- At least 2 years experience working in a broadcast production environment (live TV preferred), or a print photography environment
- Must be flexible to work as needed on days, nights (and overnights), and weekends to support 24/7 live show.
- Lifting, pulling, pushing items over 25 lbs
- Packaging/un-packing items
- Standing for extending periods of time
- Handling objects, tools, or controls
- Reach with arms, balance and kneel
Nice to Haves
-Culinary Degree
- Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to interpret, make decisions, and relay information based on instructions and creative direction and maintain brand standards
- Strong project management skills
- Experience with creating, maintaining, and adhering to budgets
- Necessary to be able to forge and maintain business relationships at various levels
- Strong customer service skills
- Team player with the ability to drive results in a fast paced environment
- Must collaborate and also work individually and cross-functionally
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work efficiently on multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
- Detail-oriented
- Must be able to prioritize effectively and multi-task in a fast paced environment
