OVERALL SUMMARY
The Manager of College Recruiting leads the efforts to build a pipeline of entry-level talent for HBO businesses company-wide. This will include maintaining relationships with select colleges/universities, traveling to schools to conduct on-site presentations and attending career fairs. Oversee all facets of annual internship program from marketing, resume review, intern selection and placement assignments. Will also provide training facilitation, support and coaching to the interns. Partner with Global Distribution - College Marketing team to provide support for HBO’s College Ambassador Program.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Management of NY and SEATTLE Internship Programs year round
• Liaise with sites (LA) to ensure alignment of recruitment and pipeline strategy
• Ensure proactive inclusion through strong partnerships with key diversity organizations
• Build relationships with intern hiring managers, supervisors and cross functional HR colleagues
• Oversee onboarding of interns including facilitation of orientation
• Provide career coaching and counseling to interns and managers regarding performance issues
• Design performance measurement processes
• Effectively manage executive and internal referrals for internship opportunities
• Identify and set strategy at target schools based on ROI
• Manage relationships with university faculty, staff and key student organization leaders
• Conduct college information sessions and attend career fairs throughout the region as needed
• Keep up-to-date with new recruiting methods / trends
• Provide interpretation of HR policies, practices, and procedures to interns and managers
• Facilitate Internship program events such as orientation, career workshops, panel discussions, etc.
• Develop and design full-time rotational programs for departments with consistent entry-level talent needs
• Manage college recruiter(s) and administrative staff
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Education or Communications related field
• A minimum of 5 years of related work experience either in college recruiting, program management or higher education
• Prior media industry experience is preferred
• Strong public speaking, interpersonal, and assessment skills
• Coaching, leadership and the ability to mentor
• Ability to travel both locally and overnight during peak recruiting season
• Attendance at conferences and speaking engagements on panels
• Individual should be a team player and have the ability to manage/lead a department
• Possess outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Experience executing on and managing events (food, panelists, space, programs, etc.)
• Strong follow-up and follow-through skills and ability to interact with management of all levels
• Proficient in applicant tracking systems and other recruiting tools
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, in particular strength in Excel
