Primary Purpose of Position
The Head of HR for HBO Europe will provide strategic human resources leadership to the management team. This person will be also be responsible for providing day to day human resources management expertise and consultation to both executives and employees of HBO Europe.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Develop, implement and lead one HR strategy and delivery model for the business throughout the region
• Build and foster relationships that enable the Head of HR to function as a trusted advisor to leaders regarding workforce strategy, organisational design, performance management, succession planning and strategy development
• Partner closely with HBO HR corporate office on the development of strategic HR plans, programs and initiatives, and compliance matters
• Attract, retain, develop and engage a highly proficient HR team to support the region
• Manage geographically dispersed HR team
Key Focus Areas
• Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement key business initiatives, ensuring proper alignment with key business goals and performance management
• Develop critical business partner relationships through consultation with regional management and their leadership teams on appropriate action regarding their human resource needs

• Provide innovative ideas and insights to the team by proactively identifying opportunities for change or improvement and leading those initiatives
• Provide proactive management, coaching and professional development support to direct reports and as a role model for effective management for the client
• Partner with corporate HR in administering and communicating reward programs and work with local and headquarters colleagues to effectively implement the first worldwide HR information system
• Partner with colleagues and team members to successfully communicate and execute HR programs, policies and initiatives
• Lead and drive projects to successful execution and completion by ensuring seamless delivery to clients
• Provide resources, leadership and counsel in the areas of valuing diversity and inclusion throughout the client organisations
• Manage legal requirements for employment procedures and operations throughout the EMEA region while partnering with internal legal resources
• Ensure proper coordination with HBO headquarters, leveraging resources and relationships to facilitate compliance with all corporate policies, procedures and approval processes
Skills and Experience
• A comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the HR function and disciplines developed from significant experience gained from sophisticated and progressive HR driven organisations
• Must be both strategic and ''hands-on'' with extensive work experience in organisational development
• Experience with managing legal requirements for employment procedures and operations throughout the EMEA region
• Demonstrated ability to navigate successfully in a rapidly changing, multi-tasking, aggressive and dynamic organisation
• Significant influencing / negotiating skills with senior level executives
• Highly developed experience of partnering with multiple stakeholders at all levels and balancing the role as liaison between both HR and client groups (understanding and managing the priorities of the company with the objectives of the client groups and Human Resources division)
• Experience within the Entertainment/Broadcasting/Media industry sector is highly desirable, as is experience in a multi-regional, international environment
• A creative and innovative approach to problem solving that balances the strategic goals of the company with the objectives of the client organization and solid HR practices and principles
• Current experience on emerging developments and practices in the HR field and engaged in knowledge sharing with colleagues and in bringing solutions to clients
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, including strong presentation skills Possess a strong work ethic and motivation with the drive to succeed and excel in all aspects of the function while bringing valued resources and developing and maintaining strong relationships in the process
• A strong value system, personal integrity, business acumen and self-confidence/presence are essential
• Advanced project management skills including knowledge of appropriate methodology and project planning principles
• Exhibit strong analytical and problem solving skills, able to prioritise and complete multiple priorities and assignments using outstanding judgment, decision-making and problem solving skills
• Highly developed ability to provide coaching and mentoring as required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, and a knowledge of Workday would be ideal
• Bachelor's Degree (Business Administration, Psychology or Human Resources a plus) is required. An MBA or MS Degree is highly desirable
• In additional to fluent English, knowledge of other European languages is preferred
• The role will require significant European travel and occasionally outside Europe
About Us HBO Europe was created in October 2015 from two separate business units: HBO Nordic and HBO Central Europe. The Nordic business launched HBO's first OTT service and the Central European Business has a longer history in a more traditional media environment.
The business is undergoing a period of change as these two different cultures begin to work together and merge into one cohesive unit. There are approximately 45 employees in the Nordic region and 300 in Central Europe with further expansion in the region as HBO España plan to launch an OTT service later in 2016.
