OVERALL SUMMARY:
The Vice President, Human Resources (HR) will lead the east coast Employee Relations teams and work closely with business and functional leaders and HR colleagues to drive individual and organizational performance. In addition, this senior HR executive will provide strategic consultative support on staff issues, initiatives and policies.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•
Provide strategic human resources consultation to leadership and collaborate in the development, implementation of people initiatives, programs and policies.
•
Develop and lead the east coast-based employee relations team
•
Build and foster relationships that enable the Vice President to serve as trusted advisor to leaders regarding workforce strategy, organizational design, performance management, succession planning, and strategy development.
•
Develop and support a broad range of initiatives that support a productive work environment and foster a culture of innovation, inclusion and collaboration.
•
Consult with senior leaders to drive change, improve organizational effectiveness, and work closely with Talent Management team to implement talent strategies.
•
Partner with leadership and HR teams to facilitate execution of all annual human resources processes including the annual compensation process, performance management process, and succession management process.
•
Represent HBO with respect to Time Warner cross-divisional initiatives, as appropriate.
REQUIREMENTS:
•
Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree a plus
•
10 years progressive experience in human resources management as a strategic business partner and advisor to senior executives; 3 years experience in an HR leadership capacity.
•
Comprehensive knowledge of employment law; PHR a plus.
•
Solid working knowledge in all major HR disciplines (compensation, recruiting, succession management, diversity/EEO, learning and development, benefits, organization development/effectiveness).
•
Solid knowledge of HR laws and/or experience in international HR practices (experience with UK and Canada a plus).
•
Experience in and demonstrated success in managing across organizations by using influence versus authority.
•
Ability to function as an internal coach to senior management, peers and others by helping them identify and resolve issues, encourage best-in-class management practices, anticipate internal organization issues, propose solutions, and represent the employee perspective.
•
Must possess strong leadership skills with a high degree of influence and persuasion to direct, inspire and develop a high performing team of human resource professionals in multiple locations.
•
Superior written, listening and verbal communications skills.
•
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills are essential.
•
Exceptional relationship building skills, creative problem solving abilities and demonstrated use of sound judgment.
•
Demonstrated ability to manage concurrent, complex and sensitive issues; exceptional multi-tasker with the ability to prioritize.
•
Process management, project management and follow through skills are essential.
•
Proven record of effectively operating at both a strategic and tactical level.
•
Comfortable working in a high volume, fast paced environment.
•
Knowledge of HRIS (Workday a plus).
•
Some travel may be required.
