OVERALL SUMMARY:
We are looking for a seasoned Training & Development Specialist to join HBO's Organizational Effectiveness (OE) team. The Training & Development Specialist will report directly into the Vice President of Organizational Effectiveness. We are seeking an experienced and tech savvy Learning and Development professional who will embody these attributes to help support and grow our employees by designing, facilitating and coordinating companywide training and development activities for HBO.
As a key member of the Organizational Effectiveness team, you will be tasked with partnering with Business and HR leadership teams to develop effective and engaging learning programs and curriculum that address key performance objectives and opportunities, while leveraging technology and modern tools to elevate the experience for employees. You will lean on key adult learning principles, and employ effective instructional design methods to deliver various training. In addition to classroom learning, you will also be experienced with web-based e-learning and crowdsourcing solutions. Moreover, to coordinating team-building and department off-sites.
In all, this position involves creating pro-active and responsive solutions to client needs in a very service oriented environment across New York, Santa Monica, and Seattle (Digital Products/Technology/Engineering).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design, develop, deliver and evaluate company-wide employee training programs, working closely with OE Department Leadership, as needed, and HR Generalists, and clients groups
• Develop and organize training manuals (print and digital), multimedia and visually rich aids, and other educational materials
• Utilizing employee feedback evaluations-analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs
• Manage program design of external vendors
• Research and benchmark best-practices in Training and Development
• Handle all course set-up for internal training programs
• Handle ad-hoc training design and development for internal client groups (customization)
• In collaboration with VP Organizational Effectiveness, designing, developing and executing department off-site and team-builds
• Responsible for performing miscellaneous duties related to training and development
REQUIREMENTS:
• BA or BS, required MS, MA preferred in organizational psychology/behavior/ instructional design/communication or MBA with emphasis in OD
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Human Resource/Training & Development experience
• Previous experience and proficiency leveraging technology and e-learning tools, including an LMS (Learning Management System)
• Creative and visual/graphic design abilities
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal & communication skills (written and oral)
• Must be detail-oriented
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
• Strong analytical skills (extract key concepts, details, and sequences)
• Strong capacity to manage logistics and A/V
• Ability to coordinate employee events of various scales
• Experience partnering with other offices and remote locations, and ability delivering training to those offices
• Critical and creative thinker with ability to problem solve, and an unwavering commitment to service and quality
• Experience partnering with senior-level executives and external influencers
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.), MAC programs (e.g. Keynote), Google applications, and other presentation and training tools such as Prezi
• Limited travel to other domestic offices to conduct training as required.
