Role Summary
This position of Logistics Coordinator- Shipping is responsible for import and export coordination, shipment tracking, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Describe the key responsibilities & role criteria. More specifically, the job entails:
• Prepares, executes, tracks and records all domestic and international shipments while ensuring that shipments are made in a cost efficient manner.
• Prepares export documents for shipments and electronic filing of “Shippers export declarations”
• Resolves inventory shipments and/or shipment orders discrepancies.
• Investigate and recommend optimal shipping options and coordinate with vendors.
• Coordinate and communicate with internal/external parties to ensure on time delivery of shipments.
• Ensure shipping compliance with state, federal, and international regulations.
• Ensures materials shipped are packaged properly such that parts will not be damaged during transportation.
• Ensures shipment orders/and or other equipment requests are checked for accuracy and completeness for shipment.
• Ensures equipment requisitions are accurate and have all required authorizations prior to release.
• Enters all shipping information in the inventory management system.
• Obtains and manages shipping quotes.
• Assists with inventory physical, cycle and min/max counts.
• Assists with other logistics tasks as required.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications/Experience
• 5 years of experience in freight logistics.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Understanding of US Customs (import and export) regulations is a must.
• Comprehensive understanding of Incoterms.
• Understanding of U.S. Export Compliance is a must. Must have knowledge of the EAR (Export Administration Regulations). CCL (Commerce Control List) and ECCN (Export Classification Control Numbers)
• Knowledge of all US embargoed countries and US denied parties list. Must also know not to ship to any denied person or country
• Must have working knowledge of US customs compliance rules and regulations. i.e. HTS codes, Schedule B.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication and analytical skills with ability to assess business impact.
