Key responsibilities
The IT Site Supervisor role is to oversee, manage and participate to IT activities at our office based in Lombard, Illinois. This position, while remaining a “hands-on” role, is responsible for the supervision of IT services staff based at the designated office(s) and is accountable for the continuity of computer services, day-to-day operations and to maintain a high level of satisfaction of the users on the technology perspective. These objectives need to be accomplished through efficient planning, coordination, technical leadership and communications.
The IT Site Supervisor will be accountable for the health of the systems, material and services under his responsibility. He or she will be responsible for the security of the Intellectual Property of the company through an adherence to existing standard operating procedures and policies. He or she will be responsible of certain IT procurement activities and will manage relations and negotiations with vendors and various services partners.
The chosen candidate will be available 24/7 in case of emergency or critical issues, and out of regular business hours to conduct maintenances on the infrastructure or participate to special projects.
More specifically, the person will be required to:
• Manage local IT employees and set team priorities for a specific location based on IT global requirements and specific location operations requirements while serving as a working supervisor
• Assist in driving technology learning and usage within the department and designated office, including new hire training on IT processes and basic common software;
• Provide leadership and coordination on technical projects as needed
• Assist in the development and management the relationships with other managers, users, site business units/departments, other IT departments, vendors and services providers, etc.
• Assist IT Operations Manager in managing the site(s) workstations environment and some infrastructure environment
• Actively participate to IT services activities and response
• Align priorities of teams with overall priorities of other sites, Global IT and the company as a whole
• Set goals and objectives for the employees on site
• Coach and mentor employees
• Recruit, hire and discipline employees as necessary
• Produce documentation as required per audits, departmental or organizational requirements
Qualifications
REQUIRED
• BS degree or equivalent work experience
• 4 or more years of experience in all aspects of IT
• Experience with establishing and maintaining processes, procedures and policies
• Experience managing/coordinating projects in a support environment
• Extensive knowledge of current Microsoft Windows and Office products
• Willing to work outside of regular business hours and participate to 24/7 support
ASSETS
• Experience with IT Service Management tools
• Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to work with varied staff members and personalities
• Creative and objective disposition with strong problem solving skills
• Prior experience in the management of IT
• Has lead work in a structured IT environment using a ticket system
• Microsoft certification
• ITIL experience, training or certification
• VMWare certification or training
• Active Directory & Exchange environment management
• Has participated in offices moves and relocation of IT infrastructure
• Knowledge/experience on data storage infrastructure (NetApp, Nimble, EMC) and content workflows
Work Environment
• This job operates in a professional office environment.
• The job requires the ability to use a keyboard to enter and retrieve data.
• Position requires travel between offices in the greater Chicago and Lombard area.
