Key responsibilities
This attorney will be the lead “commercial” (transactional) lawyer supporting Global Eagle’s Connectivity segment, which includes its Aviation Connectivity and Maritime & Land Connectivity business lines. The segment operates across GEE offices globally, and the lawyer will be dedicated to that segment. By necessity, a strong and close working relationship will exist between the attorney and personnel across those offices.
Specific responsibilities will include:
• Establishing and maintaining legal process improvements and best practices insofar as Connectivity business, including controls, standard contract forms and other templates and regulatory framework
• Negotiating, drafting and analyzing commercial aviation and maritime customer and supply agreements, as well as satellite-related agreements supporting the Connectivity segment
• Deep understanding of legal issues around aviation, maritime and satellite-communications matters
• Working directly with the business teams to provide advice on the implementation of strategic and tactical business plans and objectives insofar as Connectivity matters
Ideal Candidate Profile:
• A minimum of 5 to 7 years of law-firm experience in aviation, maritime, complex commercial or satellite/communications transactions, or similar work experience in-house. This is a “transactional” legal position, not a regulatory one.
• Top academic credentials and major law firm training are required.
• Ability to lead transactions and projects, with strong analytical, interpersonal, drafting, negotiation, written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to balance competing priorities to meet tight deadlines
• Practical-minded business attorney who has a “can do” attitude and is a team player, enthusiastic, energetic, pro-active, responsive and service-driven
• FCC/FAA regulatory understanding is a plus, but not required.
• Proven ability to work cross-culturally and to communicate effectively with US and overseas offices.
• Some travel possible.

• Cross-border experience is a plus.
