Key Responsibilities:
Supervised by Director of Program Operations, the Program Manager has accountability for managing the qualification and certification of connectivity and wireless IFE systems through aircraft OEM line fit certification. Leads a cross-functional, cross-organizational team comprised of internal and external team members. The programs managed by the Program Manager represent strategic imperatives that have significant impact on the business and have direct visibility to senior management. The Program Manager has the required skills to form high performing teams that will result in the timely and high quality execution of the assigned programs. Partners with Product Teams, System Engineering, Software Development, QA, Procurement teams along with aircraft OEMs to develop and manage integrated delivery plans to support line fit projects with an immediate, primary focus on connectivity systems for Boeing line fit on multiple aircraft models .
Scope, Schedule and Resources:
As a Program Manager you will need to be able to have a detailed, technical understanding of your programs, a facility with OEM program practices and manage the content of your program accordingly. You will need to have a comprehensive understanding of resources, people and money, and be able to clearly articulate needs and status to SLT members. You need to be able to look at the timing of your program with granularity at the week, month and quarter level and understand what is driving your schedule. You will need to feel accountable for all aspects of your program, take full ownership and drive to deliver on time with quality.
Cross-Functional Collaboration is Key:
• Provides leadership to the cross-functional teams by helping define clear, realistic goals; clears barriers to team progress and manages the resolution/mitigation of project risks and issues
• Works closely with OEM to ensure scope and expectations alignment.
• Collects, analyzes, integrates, and maintains cross-functional deliverables (i.e., integrated project plans, change management plans, and risk management plans)
• Manages compliance to program budgets and ensures programs are appropriately funded
• Ensures linkage between strategy and operational activities
• Tracks team performance and proactively alerts team and management about deviations from plan
Minimum Qualifications:
• At least 10 years of experience working with complex, integrated programs
• Direct, hands on experience deploying or developing complex engineering deliverables
• Successful track record of managing cross-functional project teams comprised of internal and external resources
• Demonstrated experience developing an organization’s project management processes and leading the adoption of these practices
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• PMP certification preferred
