Payroll Manager | Global Eagle
The Accounts Payable Specialist Provides support for department functions with specific responsibility for performing activities related to the accurate processing of authorized invoices.
Key responsibilities
Global Eagle is seeking to hire a Payroll Manager to be part of our team. This is a term position to cover a leave and will be processing payroll for six separate companies, approximately 1500 employees, multi state and international payroll.
The payroll manager position manages payroll process and performs accounting-related tasks.
Essential Functions
• Analyzes, prepares and inputs payroll data. Typically uses automated system to produce accurate and timely payroll. Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
• Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.) for management.
• Performs various journal entries, account reconciliations, and provides general ledger support.
• Supervises Payroll Specialists
• Maintains current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws and well as international payroll needs.
• Stays current on payroll systems to achieve alignment with HR benefits and other related and to ensure effective accounting support.
• Facilitates management and employee understanding of payroll procedures.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• 5 to 7 years of multi-state Payroll experience working with ADP software or similar platform
• Advanced knowledge of PC applications (principally Excel and MS Office products).
• Ability to work independently with strong time management and organization skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to facilitate clear and concise communication with a high level of professionalism.
• Well versed with standard payroll/accounting concepts, practices and procedures.
Strong ethical values.
• HR knowledge as it relates to payroll and accounting.
• Ability to work in a team environment in making business decisions, implementing process and enlist feedback.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities.

• Bachelor degree, or similar degree desired
• Knowledge of ADP Work Force Now and Oracle
• Ability to exercise individual judgment in researching problems and resolving employee issues with a sense of urgency to meet strict deadlines.
