Key responsibilities
The IT Helpdesk will be part of an experienced team, responsible for computer hardware and systems support to all employees in Global Eagle. You will be responsible for general day to day desktop support, assisting users with problems that will range from simple password resets to complex system issues.
Working with the rest of the IT team, you will work to test, install, configure and troubleshoot computer hardware and software. As part of this position, you will help to create documentation, diagrams and other detailed instructions to ensure our practices and configurations are easily referenced by other members of the team.
• Support business software and hardware platforms
• Configure and maintain network and storage systems
• Configure and maintain data centre infrastructure
• Provide 1st/2nd Line Support to Global Eagle employees in Europe and where necessary, globally.
• Recommend infrastructure improvements to the IT manager
• Administer company storage, network and telephony systems
• Travel outside of the UK may be required, so the candidate must be able to travel at relatively short notice
Qualifications
• Microsoft MCITP
• Other Microsoft qualifications desirable
• ITIL v3 desirable
Skills
• Network technologies and protocols including IP, DNS/DHCP
• Experience managing firewalls ideally Cisco ASA and/or Dell Sonicwall
• Microsoft software including Windows Server 2008/2012, Exchange, Active Directory, Microsoft Office 2010/2013/2016/O365 and other Microsoft platforms
• Experience managing SAN or NAS infrastructure, ideally EMC or NetApp
• HP or Dell desktops and laptops
• Previous experiencing implementing and/or managing automated OS deployment tools
• ShoreTel VoIP Telephony Management
• Apple OSX and Apple MacBook/iMac Configuration & Support Experience
• LTO5/6 Tape Archiving
• Knowledge of digital media including Aspera and/or Signiant highly desirable
• Knowledge of production systems including Telestream Vantage, Digital Rapids desirable
