Full Time Job
Responsible for assembly integration and test of equipment ordered by EMC customers, ensuring that all products shipped from an EMC facility passes factory acceptance tests and meets the high standard of EMC.
Key Responsibility Qualifications
• Assemble, integrate, and test new systems prior to shipment to customer. Perform complete system tests and verify operation of system components. Document verification checks.
• Oversee the workmanship of EMC systems for adherence to the EMC Quality Assurance Program
• Verify work order information and receipt of all necessary equipment and information for systems.
• Develop test and adjust procedures for EMC equipment as necessary.
• Ensure that packing of equipment is in accordance with EMC QA standards to mitigate shipping damage.
• Recommend tools and test equipment to be used by maritime FEs
• Provide remote troubleshooting and support to customers and junior technicians.
• Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of test suite.
• Maintain documentation for all shipments tested by SD Technician; load into database.
• Provide training to technicians on equipment installation and commissioning procedures
• Provide on-site support for installation and/or service in local area
• Maintain hardware, tools and test equipment for warehouse
• Other tasks as assigned
NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS: This position will report to the Director of Global Delivery, but will coordinate closely with Service Delivery Supervisor and PMO, Service Management and QA manager to coordinate testing efforts to meet customer installation commitments.
TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS: 2 years satellite system installation and repair experience, equivalent of Associates degree in electronics technology. Candidate must have ability to read and comprehend technical documents and have working knowledge of standard test equipment used in the satellite industry (Spectrum Analyzer, Bert Tester…etc.). IP knowledge CCNA certification is preferred.
PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS: PC use, telephone use. Candidate must be able to transport or lift tools and/or equipment weighing up to 75lbs.
