GEE Client Services division is a world leader in providing content services to airlines world-wide. The division is responsible for the overall IFE Strategy, Procurement, Licensing, and delivery of content and content services to its airline clients. This division works closely with the airlines, studios, distributors - and internally with the Operations and Metadata divisions, to ensure that media is delivered to spec and on time.
Key Responsibilities
A Content Service Integrator reports to the Director, US Operations and acts as the conduit for entertainment media from various sources to the final shipment of a release. This position works with film labs, movie distributors, content service providers, to ensure that content is integrated into the Lumexis FTTS system and delivered on time, and in the appropriate, high quality format.
More specifically, the job entails:
• Manages the flow of incoming media (movies, music, television programs, etc.)
• Documents and tracks progress on monthly content updates for internal and external visibility
• Quality Control of media (correct video, subtitle, and audio tracks, video and audio quality, subtitle availability and appearance, and much more)
• Manages the introduction, storage, and deletion of media assets on long term and ingestion servers
• Integrates metadata (database, spreadsheets and graphics) from content service providers
• Works with the content service providers to ensure accuracy and appropriate appearance of metadata
• Manages the storage and distribution of metadata
• Responsible for the induction and accuracy of media and metadata on cartridge releases
• Creates and maintains metadata provisions and standards documents
• Maintains video encoding specifications documents
• Manages released cartridge duplication, and digital transfers
• Tracks cartridge inventory
• Assists Core Software team with media-encryption-key updates
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Interface directly with the customers who use the FTTS system on delivery and issue resolution
• Document process workflows and keep up to date accordingly
• Technical support of new advanced media systems for IFE.
• Training and close supervision of other team members in the Integration Dept.
Qualifications
• Ability to effectively communicate and establish working relationships with people in other departments and throughout the content path
• Organized and detail oriented
• Flexibility to maintain a shifting work load on a firm deadline.
• Familiarity with command line usage of Linux operating systems
• Firm proficiency in command line MySQL (or other RDBMS) and database concepts
• Moderate Excel skills
• Familiarity with version-control systems such as CVS or SVN
• Programming or scripting experience is a plus
• Experience in video encoding/streaming is a plus
• Experience in the IFE content distribution chain is a plus
• Ability to identify and resolve issues without supervision in a timely manner.
• Excellent negotiation skills, and ability to manage monthly budgets and produce monthly budget reports.
• Excellent communication skills – with the ability to clearly communicate with all stakeholders, from distributors to labs and hardware vendors.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Leadership and strong organizational/administrational skills including writing, advanced excel and proofreading.
• Detail oriented.
• Foreign languages spoken a plus.
• The ability to take initiative and strive to deliver an exceptional product and service.
