The business is creating a Shared Service Centre (“SSC”) finance function within the Knutsford office and requires an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor. You will be part of technical accounting team for UK, Europe and Middle-East locations.
Key responsibilities
Supervised by the Vice-president Finance E.M.E.A., the Accounts Payable Supervisor will be responsible for delegating workloads between the team and ensuring the prompt payment of invoices. The Supervisor will also reconcile supplier statements, resolve payment queries and complete all associated month end procedures.
More specifically, the person will be required to:
• Manage the purchase ledger from start to finish including reconciliation and journal entries.
• Deliver to the month end timetable.
• Verify invoices (high volume).
• Liaise daily with company offices in London, Dubai, Spain, Singapore and Amsterdam.
• Review employee expenses with iExpense of Oracle, ensuring compliance to T&E policies.
• Prepare batches of invoices and expenses for data entry including coding of invoices and expenses.
• Accurately processing VAT to specific invoices when needed.
• Review data enter invoices for payment.
• Review data entry of employee expenses.
• BACs & CHAPs payment runs.
• Manage Supplier statement reconciliations.
• Manage Company Credit Card Expenditure.
• Ensuring that communication to the wider business is effective, e.g. communicating results, escalating problems, working with stakeholders in the process.
• Evaluate established SOX controls to ensure adequacy and adherence.
• Develop new controls as needed to ensure adequacy and adherence.
• Liaison with both external and internal auditors.
• Supervise, develop, mentor, establish and review goals, for the Payables team.
Qualifications and competencies
• Extensive full-function Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger experience
• 10 years’ experience in a management accounting environment
• Experience with Oracle accounting system is a plus
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
• Detail oriented and organized in work with the ability to meet assigned deadlines
• Intermediate level knowledge of all accounting functions and related internal controls, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed assets
