General Summary of the Position
GEE Advertising & Sponsorship team represent a portfolio of the world’s leading airlines for Inflight advertising, sponsorship, partner management and ancillary revenue generation. We work closely with our airline partners, advertising agencies and global brands to create some of the most engaging and valuable media campaigns in the industry. The Account Director – Advertising Sponsorship, Germany, will pioneer GEE’s growth in mainland Europe. You will be responsible for the growth and management of revenues within the Lufthansa and airberlin advertising portfolios. The newly-created role will be instrumental in the continued growth and success of GEE’s global Advertising and Sponsorship team, with a direct impact on the immediate EMEA team, located in UK, UAE, and Asia. The successful applicant will have a minimum 7-10 years’ experience within a media sales role, preferably in out-of-home, print or online advertising. You will have an excellent understanding of the media agency landscape across Germany and mainland Europe, and a proven success of working with senior clients, agencies and media buyers. The role will involve a combination of working both remotely and from GEE’s airline partner offices in Berlin, when required. You will be required to travel throughout Germany to meet with clients and media agencies. This person will be responsible for working directly with airline partners to report on sales activity, manage the advertising portfolio and develop further growth opportunities within the region. Excellent communication to a variety of stakeholders internally and externally is essential, along with experience of working with senior commercial partners. The role will require fluent German and English written and oral communication.
Key Responsibilities
• Establishes productive, professional relationships with GEE’s airline partners in Germany
• Represent GEE to clients and media agencies throughout Germany
• Management of targets, inventory, revenues and opportunities within airline media portfolios
• Meets and exceeds advertising sales targets
• Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis.
• Leads solution development efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company personnel
• Increase GEE’s sales and market knowledge within region
• Completes strategic customer account plans that meet company standards
• Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards
• Closely coordinates company executive involvement with customer management
• Works closely with other divisions of the organization to enhance overall value proposition for prospective customers
• Engages with other colleagues throughout the globe to strategize and scale new opportunities
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in related field
• Minimum of 7-10 years of strategic sales experience in an advertising environment
• Strong and deep relationships with advertising agency decision makers throughout Germany and Europe
• Strong relationships with direct clients throughout Germany
• Strong communication skills (oral and written)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate across numerous departments
• Innovative and proactive - a forward thinker with the will to drive our business forward
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Must be computer proficient using Microsoft Office software and other software products
• Strong commitment to customer service
• Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Good decision making abilities a must
