ABOUT THE POSITION:
Gigantic Pictures is looking for a full-time Office Manager/Executive Assistant to help with development and producing duties, as well as various key tasks relating to running the film division of Gigantic.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to be involved in New York Independent Film to learn about every element of the film business, and potentially expand with the company.
Responsibilities are entirely dependent on the project and vary widely, but in the past, they have included:
Researching various development and production opportunities, as well as documentary-style research; Arranging travel and coordinating schedules; Assisting the head producers; Designing prospectuses and budgets for projects; Crafting and assembling project grants; Casting and coordinating of projects; Assisting with shoots as needed; Coordinating film festival appearances and submissions; Preparing and Delivering films for distribution; Managing and hiring office interns; Reading scripts in development and providing detailed coverage; Administrative duties: ordering supplies, shipping, answering phones and addressing inquiries.
ABOUT YOU:
The ideal candidate is someone who is proactive, a fast learner and able to perform in a busy office environment.
Requirements:
Strong writing and communication skills; Ability to work independently, to multi-task and to prioritize; Initiative and the ability to see projects and tasks through to the end in a timely manner; Enthusiasm/interest in the film business; Proficient in Excel, Word and email programs; Eager to learn new skills; Tech savvy and able to troubleshoot.
Familiarity with post workflow, design experience (Photoshop / InDesign), AVID or Final Cut Pro experience, knowledge of Quickbooks/ EP Budgeting and Scheduling are all pluses, but not required.
