Intern - Marketing/Social Media

This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship

GigDog is a Startup internet radio station that plays music of local and up-and-coming bands coming to your town in the next few weeks or playing at a festival. We are currently based out of the Darden Business School Incubator program in Charlottesville, VA. We will soon begin our Madison station to promote musicians and bands in the Madison area. Our company is seeking a very smart, self-motivated intern with exceptional knowledge of the Madison area area and Music scene. This position is perfect for an intern hoping to gain experience in social media, marketing and business development.

We are looking for a Marketing intern to assist with the following:

-Social Media: help with Facebook and twitter posts, coming up with content; updating all social media accounts; keep track of all social media traffic
-PR: finding contacts, adding to media outreach target list, also assisting in reaching out to bloggers and publications
-Blog: we are considering launching a blog and need writers to assist in coming up with original and creative content.

Applicants should:
-love Music
-be very creative and always coming up with new ideas, open-minded.
-Outgoing and flexible (did we mention that we are a Startup?)
-be organized and pay great attention to detail
-have proper grammar and punctuation skills
-**WRITING SKILLS a major plus

This is an unpaid internship, but we pay plentifully in SWAG. If we do well, we will throw you a flip. No seriously. We share well. We may also need some assistance during upcoming visits to Madison if you are available, but it is not required.
