Details/Description: The attorney will report directly to the head of Business and Legal Affairs and shall be responsible for supporting the business affairs and legal needs of the company's development, production, digital and international distribution groups. The attorney will be responsible for negotiating and drafting various agreements with television networks, digital platforms, distributors and all manner of above and below-the-line personnel, including producers, directors, and on-screen talent. The attorney will also draft release agreements and other production documents in connection with the company's programming and will review and assess content for clearance issues and potential intellectual property, privacy and defamation concerns. Other tasks may be assigned as needed.
Requirements:
- J.D. from an A.B.A. accredited law school
- Current membership in the California State Bar
- Minimum 1-2 years prior transactional experience in the entertainment industry
- Ability to organize and schedule work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
