NUVOtv and Fuse are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to provide technology excellence and deep engineering skills in a growing and dynamic company.
The Senior Systems Administrator will have primary responsibility for the support, implementation, maintenance and care of all server and application systems as well as providing support to end users across the company while making recommendations for new technologies, processes and workflows.
The right candidate is a self-starter who can work in a fast-paced environment, understands critical deadlines, isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves to get a job done and is an excellent team player, collaborator and communicator.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• Be a champion of technology best practices that are practical, aligned and supportive of the business
• Maintain systems, applications and software configurations to minimize downtime and impacts to the business through diligent
maintenance, backup and administration practices
• Support existing and implement new infrastructure and application technology additions and major modifications to improve
infrastructure performance and resiliency
• Assist in the development and execution of system designs, technology strategies and operational efficiency enhancements
• Responsible for the development of technical project plans as well as testing procedures
• Mentor and train junior support staff across multiple offices
• Evaluate, test and implement vendor patches and upgrades to software, firmware and other application systems
• Create and maintain detailed system and application configuration documentation
• Create and maintain technology standards and standard processes for system procurement, implementation and maintenance
• Collaborate with, support and solicit input from team members as well as various levels of the organization as appropriate
• Manage and communicate expectations to stakeholders, clients and management
• Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, external vendors and business partners
• Keep abreast of the latest trends and changes in the technology landscape
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum of 7-10 years of IT administration with direct experience in mission critical environments
• Minimum of 4+ years as a Senior Systems Administrator
• Extensive demonstrated experience with the Windows Server operating systems (2003-current), including desktop operating
systems
(Windows 7-current, MAC OS-X generation up to current) as well
• Experience supporting Microsoft SQL (2003-current) and Microsoft IIS
• Proficiency with Microsoft Exchange 2003-2013, DAG configurations as well as geographically dispersed clustered messaging
nodes
• Proficiency with domain wide as well as system specific spam prevention, anti-phisihing and anti-malware tools and techniques
• Proficiency with routing, firewalls, switching and other network topologies as they relate to Systems Administration duties
• Proficiency with backup technologies and their best practices
• Proficiency with Active Directory as well as Microsoft-based DNS, DHCP, Domain trusts
• MCSE Certification - relatively current with respect to Operating System versions
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
• Scripting experience with PowerShell
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills is a must
• Experience supporting applications delivered via on-premise and cloud-based SaaS delivery models
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal) are essential to success
• Must be able to juggle conflicting priorities, multi-task and meet deadlines while working cool under pressure and presenting a
calm exterior
• Must understand the importance of documentation and be self-aware at all times regarding the impact of technology change on
a business
• Must be willing to travel as much as 25% of the time, be on-call 24x7 and to work long-hours and weekends when necessary
• Must have a willingness to learn on the fly, and be passionate about technology
• Microsoft Office and Visio expert level skills required
• Must be able to plan ahead and be detail oriented, with a critical eye on quality of service and support
• Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs
BENEFICIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Any of the following certifications: CCNA, CCNP, A+, Network+, Linux+
• Other relevant technology industry certifications
• Familiarity and experience supporting / implementing Cisco Firewalls, Access Points and Voice Over IP systems (CUCM, CCM)
• Familiarity and experience with configuration management and deployment tools such as Chef, Puppet, SCCM or other relevant
tools
• Familiarity with remote access solutions and application presentation / virtualization (such as Xen Server, 2x, Terminal Server;
AppV)
• Familiarity and experience supporting / implementing SAN & NAS storage devices
• Familiarity and experience supporting / implementing virtualization solutions (VMware, HyperV, Xen)
• Familiarity and experience supporting / implementing Linux-based systems and open source technologies
• Familiarity with load-balancing techniques and systems including round-robin DNS and hardware load balancers
• Familiarity and experience managing / supporting cloud platforms such as AWS, Rackspace and others
• Solid understanding of structured / facility cabling techniques, best practices and medium limitations
• Familiarity and experience supporting PBX and wired phone systems
• Scripting experience with Python, Perl, or other relevant system administration supportive language(s) across Windows and
Linux systems
• Media and Entertainment industry experience
