Responsibilities and Expectations
REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum 10+ years publicity experience
• Agency experience required
• New York Based
• Experience working with fashion and accessory clients as well as across sectors (business, lifestyle, home/design, corporate)
PRESS RELATIONS
• Excellent senior level short-lead and long- lead fashion and lifestyle editor contacts across all media
• Ability to pitch and coordinate national and regional broadcast segments and in-studio style segments
• Strong relationships with on- air style experts
• Experience in creative style credits and trend stories
• Strong stylist relationships
• Positioning designer/spokesperson as an authority on style
SKILLS/CHARACTERISTICS
• Ability to strategically advise and guide clients
• Assign, supervise, and manage the activities of the fashion public relations account teams
• Conceptualize, organize, and execute events
• Able to lead, encourage, mentor, and develop junior staff members
• Effective organizational and project management skills
• Oversee creation and execution of each strategy per client
• Proven ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines
• Plan and lead brainstorms with staff
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, organizational and follow-up skills a must
• Ability to write interesting, creative, and effective press releases, media alerts and
press materials
• Possess knowledge of popular culture
• Event planning experience
• Able to work independently and in a team environment- someone who is an enthusiastic team player and has the ability to get along with others
• Connections with influencers and tastemakers in New York, Miami and Los Angeles
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and media representatives and use these relationships to develop new business opportunities
• Ensure positive communication with clientele and staff
• Create and implement proactive and targeted press campaigns
• Participate in meetings with new business clients
