In an effort to continue our innovation in programming and the entertainment business, we are currently seeking a strategically-minded senior social media manager to oversee, direct and manage the corporate social media platforms and collaborate with our partners on social media and digital marketing campaigns for our scripted and unscripted network and cable television shows. The role will report into the SVP, Communications & Marketing with additional strategic direction from the VP, Audience and Business Development. The role will also collaborate across corporate communications, publicity, marketing and digital.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Create comprehensive social media strategies, defining programs that use social media marketing techniques to increase corporate and show visibility.
• Strategize and manage digital marketing and social media campaigns and initiatives with our buyers and the broader global communications teams to ensure optimization of all programs with a focus on driving engagement.
• Participate in the creation and implementation of integrated public relations programs and collaborate on overall campaign initiatives, timelines, messaging, and exclusives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key media/ bloggers and online influencers
• Monitor, track and value social media and influencer campaigns.
• Write and post unique, engaging and compelling content that optimizes user engagement, drives action, and monetizes the corporate and show presence across all major channels- Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+, Pinterest, Instagram, etc., and owned and operated websites
• Strategize to leverage company assets and owned accounts to further build upon new and existing campaigns.
• Monitor social media trends, tools and applications, and experiment with new and alternative ways to leverage social media activities
• Manage the creative process for social media-specific design assets and work closely with all stakeholders to ensure marketing best practices are being met
• Create and maintain a social media calendar for short and long term efforts, ensuring that the content for social media channels is aligned with the marketing, publicity & production calendars
• Build constructive relationships with internal stakeholders, including but not limited to, Marketing, Legal, and Creative, to further Social Media Team objectives.
• Develop network of industry contacts; participate in relevant professional associations and become an advocate of the Company in social media spaces.
• Mentor and manage Social Media Coordinator(s) to achieve objectives.
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• 4+ years of professional experience in digital marketing/social media engagement; entertainment industry experience strongly preferred.
• Undergraduate degree in communications, marketing, advertising, public relations, business or related fields is preferred.
• The role requires an innovator, a trendsetter, a progressive thinker who can connect digital, social media, and publicity activities to the business.
• Strong understanding of social media trends, best practices and user experience across current and emerging social media platforms
• Experience in developing and implementing integrated social media strategies
• Superior writing, editing and communication skills with strong organizational and detail skills
• Exceptional ability to work in a high-pace, service oriented industry
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with excellent time-management skills, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to function well in a collaborative, team oriented environment.
