Part Time Job
REPORTS TO: Director of Distribution & Educational Programming
SALARY: $22/hour
STATUS: Part-time Contract (non-exempt)
WORK SCHEDULE 15-22.5 hours/week with flexibility and expanded hours during peak periods.
NATURE OF THE POSITION
The Digital Media Coordinator will be responsible for the creation, delivery, and organization of both physical and electronic film resources for Frameline Distribution, Frameline Voices, and Youth in Motion, with additional work during peak Festival season as well. This position will assist in preparing design items including advertisements, curriculum, and postcards as they relate to the Distribution Department. The ideal candidate should be familiar with film/video distribution and formats and dedicated to meeting deadlines within a calendar of deliverables already established.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere as well as Compressor and DVD Studio Pro to capture films from, and output to, various digital and analog formats.
• Experience with online digital delivery to platforms, including handling of metadata, and utilizing FTP sites, Dropbox, and other delivery systems.
• 1-3 years of working in media-arts related field
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
• Effective time management, particularly with changing work schedule
• Familiarity with Macintosh systems, including Word, Excel, and FileMaker
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in film production or related field
• Experience preparing digital files for platforms such as Vimeo and Amazon
• Experience using Adobe Creative Design Suite (Photoshop and InDesign) to create artwork, including DVD jackets and labels
• Experience editing film trailers and DVD extras
• Familiarity with LGBTQ media, issues and/or community
RESPONSIBLITIES
Frameline Distribution - Digital Delivery, Reformatting, and DVD Creation (80% of the time)
• Format all films to be ready for delivery to online streaming platforms.
• Adjust aspect ratio, codec, and generally convert video files for digital platforms, often from analog/SD source material.
• Build DVDs and create DVD artwork, advertisements, and other items as required.
• Assist in creating clips/trailers for new releases and Frameline Distribution related programs: Frameline Voices, Youth in Motion, and Frameline Distribution
• Maintain online communications for Frameline's Vimeo and YouTube accounts
• Assist with social media and website updates as needed
• Other duties, including administrative duties, as assigned Frameline Festival Digital Materials Coordinating (20% of the time)
• Create video materials for annual San Francisco International LGBTQ Film Festival including reels and trailers using existing footage and film clips
• Maintain trailer reels and materials from previous Festivals
• Other duties as assigned by Director of Exhibition and Programming and other Festival staff.
Frameline Festival Digital Materials Coordinating (20% of the time)
• Create video materials for annual San Francisco International LGBTQ Film Festival including reels and trailers using existing footage and film clips
• Maintain trailer reels and materials from previous Festivals
• Other duties as assigned by Director of Exhibition and Programming and other Festival staff.
